WAYNE COUNTY, N.C.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has received two reports of a suspicious male attempting to have children get in his car while they were waiting at a bus stop.

This was reported to have occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday in the 3000 block of Stevens Mill Road. The vehicle was described as a navy blue vehicle, (possibly a Trailblazer) with a wheel chair lift mounted on the back of it and a handicap placard on the rearview mirror. The person driving the vehicle was described as a male, 40 to 50 years of age with gray hair on top and a brown pony tail.

Sheriff C. A. Winders said they do not know if the person had bad intentions.

"Nor do we have any criminal charges against him, but we would like to identify him and talk to him," Winders said. "I want to caution parents to talk to their children and warn them about 'stranger danger' and what precautions they need to take."
