New rules are in place to make sure the drinking water from Jordan Lake remains safe.
According to a new law, there are now 13 rules that would regulate the chemical levels within the waters.
It also includes a 50-foot buffer throughout the watershed.
Jordan Lake touches ten counties in the Triangle and Triad with more than one million people relying on it for water.
