Governor Purdue Selects W.E.B. DuBois Community Development Corporation As Lead Agency
Governor Beverly Eaves Perdue has announced that W.E.B. DuBois Community Development Corporation (DuBois CDC) has been selected the Wake County designated agency for the North Carolina Community Services Block Grant. This selection follows a competitive process that included many of the larger non-profit agencies in the area. The decision now establishes DuBois CDC as the premier resource in Wake County for funding to support activities that are designed to assist low income families and individual residents.
"We are extremely pleased to have received this important designation", said Bettie Murchison, President/CEO of the agency. "This allows us to continue and expand our work to improve the conditions of low income people throughout Wake County. We look forward to working with community leaders and service providers countywide to ensure that essential needs are addressed and basic services provided."
W.E.B. DuBois Community Development Corporation was established in 2006 with the mission to create sustainable communities. For more information about the organization, please visit the agency website at http://www.duboiscdc.org or call 919.556.0709 Extension 111.
