A man accused of killing a Chapel Hill high school student in a car accident plead not guilty Monday in court.
Justin Crouse, 20, of Limerick Drive, rejected a plea deal for the second-degree murder charges and assault serious bodily injury.
Lillian Manis, 17, was killed in a car accident in July 2008. Manis was a student at Chapel Hill High School. Her family was in court Monday but did not comment on the case.
Crouse was originally charged with felony death by motor vehicle, but the charge was upgraded to second-degree murder. The other charge is for injuries to Mains' boyfriend, Philip Iavorov Jurov, who was in the car with Manis during the accident.
A trial has been scheduled for the week of Nov. 9.
