BUTNER, N.C. --

An 89-year-old white supremacist charged with killing a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum has arrived at a federal prison in North Carolina to be evaluated for competency to stand trial.

James von Brunn is now at the Butner Federal Medical Center in Butner, N.C. A spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons says he arrived Friday.

Earlier this month a judge ordered von Brunn to undergo the evaluation requested by his lawyer despite von Brunn's objections.

Von Brunn is accused of shooting the guard June 10. He was previously held at the D.C. jail.
