A judge is scheduled to sentence a former North Carolina body parts supplier who prosecutors have accused of falsifying the medical histories of cadavers so he could sell the tissue for transplants.
Philip Guyett Jr. is scheduled to appear in federal court Monday morning, seven months after he pleaded guilty to three counts of mail fraud. The 42-year-old faces up to 60 years in prison, although prosecutors have asked for a prison term of seven years.
Prosecutors said Guyett received $3,000 to $7,000 for each body he harvested. They argued that he changed the medical histories of cadavers he used to hide evidence of disease or drug use, trying to ensure the risky tissue wouldn't be rejected.

Prosecutors are asking for a reduced sentence based on what reasoning. Plea bargain blues have arrived again. What this man has done goes beyond criminal, as it imposed his will on the dead. Check his accts. determine his salary and you can pretty much uncover his deadly profits. Then, if found guilty, sentence him to the max of 60 years. No more plea bargaining in the judicial system.

Are we over-reacting just a bit? What he did was wrong, but "under the jail"???
