CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.
The wife of Vice President Joe Biden signed T-shirts and hugged family members of Marines heading to Afghanistan.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reported that Dr. Jill Biden, wearing a blue jacket with the Marine Corps logo, met Wednesday with 150 Marines, sailors and their families. The Marines are part of the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion and will deploy later this week to Afghanistan.
The visit was to show appreciation for members of the military and their families. Earlier this month, the vice president's oldest son, Beau Biden, returned from a yearlong deployment to Iraq.
