WAKE COUNTY, N.C.

For many years North Carolina State students would travel to Chapel Hill and celebrate Halloween on Franklin Street with the massive crowds, but now this is all starting to change. Many students are staying in the Raleigh area, and creating a tradition of staying on Hillsborough Street for Halloween.

This tradition started just in time; Chapel Hill is putting restrictions on their street event, in order to reduce the size of the crowd and bring the event back to its small town roots. This year the parking will be very restricted, Franklin Street will be cleared and open to normal car traffic around 12 am, and bars will stop serving at 1 am.

Many students are excited about the Haunted Hillsborough Hike and are happy that they do not have to go far from home to celebrate the holiday. This also gives a nice boost to business for local restaurants who are suffering from the recent construction on Hillsborough Street. Now all that is left is finding a great costume for a fun night full of North Carolina State tradition!
