Harrison Transferred To Albany

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Caroilna Hurricanes defenseman Jay Harrison has been reassigned to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Harrison, 27, has played in 10 of Carolina's 13 games in 2009-10, registering a goal, two assists (3 points) and 27 penalty minutes while averaging 12:05 of ice time per game. Carolina signed the Oshawa, Ont., native as a free agent on July 9, 2009. Harrison (6'4", 211 lbs.) was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round, 82nd overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Hurricanes take the ice next on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL, against Southeast Division rivals the Florida Panthers (7:30 p.m., FOX Sports Carolinas HD, Hurricanes Radio Network).
