  Does anyone realize that we have a new Chairman every Year and Donna's term is over at the end of this one. This continuing dialog seems to further justify that the departing of the Director (for whatever reason) was in the best interest of the Chamber. To some it may not have been soon enough. I have only been on the Board for a bit less than a year, but have been a member of the Chamber since 96 and have weathered good and bad. Andrew was a great Director and had good help inside and out. He left due to his hard work and it spawned a good offer to a great carrier building position. There are never any guarantees when hiring someone, however our previous and future filling of that position is not a one person decision and all applicants will be appropriately treated and evaluated. As of right now there is no list or even a selection committee. I have done and been many things in my working life and would not be a part of an organization which exhibits less than appropriate ethics such as implied from this stream of anonymous innuendo which seems to be personally motivated. I would ask anyone who is looking through this stream of stuff to take a moment to look at the Chamber site Fuquay-Varina.com and check out the entire list of Board Members and decide for yourself just how many are sheep and how many are reliable community active people. We each donate our time and work to do what we can to the betterment of the Chamber. That is our Agenda. We are working hard. Again, Not Anonymous, David Morris

  I know there are SEVERAL people who have had bad experiences with Donna. She has done a lot of damage to others in order to promote her own agenda. I have had first hand experience with how she operates. She is a terrible vicious gossip who only feels good about herself if she is pulling someone else down...Has anyone ever done a back ground check on her? What happened to Sue? What happened to Joanne? I know Sue was devistated when Donna escorted her out of the building to her car. Sue was a wonderful lady and she loved her job. and what is all this with Ron? I used to love to attend Chamber events, I have no interest today. If Donna has anything to do with the Chamber in the future I will not be renewing my membership. I am not listing my name because I am not interested in being another target for Donna or her simplton sheep. The Chamber has to make some changes.

  Mr. Morris, I can only speak for myself, I hold no grudges. I am a concerned resident of Fuquay Varina, and a former chamber member. I have witnessed the demise of the chamber over the last 2 years under the current leadership. The last director, Mr. Tropich was a very arrogent individual who spoke down to the citizens of Fuquay Varina. He constantly spoke of the way things were done in California and insinuated that we were lowly citizens here in FV. How the current board allowed him to keep his position longer than he did was beyond my comprehension. He should have been let go much sooner. I put blame on Ms Friery as the board chair for allowing him to stay as long as he did. It was a poor decision on her part and how she handled the situation. As for Ms. Friery, she too is a little to arrogant for my likes and seems to have made many enemies along the way during her reign as the Chamber Chair. To say she is a phony is an understatement. She too talks down to the citizens here and does not display a professional image for the FV Chamber of Commerce. It would be a major mistake if she would take over as director. Hire a respectable, qualified person for this postition and get back on track. Despite the growth that is going on in this town, we are still a small community that turns to our chamber and town for advice, leadership and direction. Ms. Friery is just an extension of the former director and should have nothing to do with the chamber.

  The downfall of the FV Chamber was not Ron himself, it was the committee that hired him. From what I understand, Donna was behind his hiring. She was on the committee that hired him for that position, still can't figure that one out. Was the committee that blind or was it their intent to put him in there instead of other people that were more qualified. What the chamber should do is wipe the slate clean, get rid of Donna, and start fresh. I was a chamber member for many years and remember the "dream team" Andrew, Joanne & Sue. It was a fine oiled machine during those times and hasn't been like that since Andrew left. I always loved going to the chamber and just visit. Andrew and the crew always made me feel like I was the most important member of the chamber. Over the last 2 years, I visited the chamber twice and felt like I was bothering them. I want to start a campaign to get the 3 of them back. Anyone want to sign a petition?

  Apparently someone seems to have a personal grudge with Donna. This posting and stream of comments seems to make the bold assumption that the Chair of our Board is the supreme leader and the rest of us are simpleton sheep. Sorry, but the Chairman has no power without a vote by a majority of Board Members to approve or reject anything including personnel changes. Additionally the Chair takes Motions and does not make Motions. Board members take the Confidentiality statement they sign when joining the Board seriously, thus details of any meeting will not be publicly discussed. This stream of comments, spewing from the initial faulty posting, could only have relevance If the rest of the Board were and are stooges. We are not. All meetings and actions adhere to our Official By-Laws and are conducted professionally My posting is not hidden behind an unidentifiable e-name. My Name is David Morris and I am proud to serve on the Fuquay-Varina Chamber Board.

  I smell something fishy!!!!!!!! Donna needs to be removed from the Chamber Board!!!! She is only in this for herself and not for the good of Fuquay!!! She has hurt more than she has helped!!!!

  Funny, Friary sells her used clothing store, my back porch and just a few days later fires Torpich. The path of destruction continues...who's goona be next on her hit list? And there is a long list...she's been a very busy lady indeed.

  glad they canned Ron - but replacing him with friery???? I hope she has enough CLASS to state that she would not submit her name for consideration and that her ONLY FOCUS is to work with the rest of the Board to replace the director with a QUALIFIED candidate (which she is not).
