Recently there was an article posted which reflect negatively upon the Fuquay-Varina Chamber Board. I am on the Fuquay-Varina Chamber Board and all meetings are respectfully held to the Mission of the Chamber. I am proud to serve on the Fuquay-Varina Chamber Board. I would not do so if I felt there was ever any conflict with my sense of ethics or was being directed toward any personal or group agenda not consistent with the Chamber Mission and By-Laws. Any and all actions of our Board, over the year I have had the privilege to serve, are a product of the Board, not any specific individual on the Board. This I truly believe or I would no longer be on the Board. This is not posted anonymously, David Morris

the chamber is a non-profit that receives public funds, anyone who wants can attend your board meetings, request minutes, etc. so having a confidentiality agreement is just for fun. and you're missing the point - no one wants specifics, we're glad ron is gone, doesn't matter how it happened. no one is questioning your heart or commitment, or the fact that you are volunteering. you guys got rid of the chamber's biggest problem (ron), don't stop there.

In response to the Comment made by Campbell: There is little I can reply with other than it's easy to be anonymous an throw stones. We, on the Chamber Board freely donate our time and do our best. Of course people with individual personal issues, founded or not, can say what they will. As a Board Member with a confidentiality agreement in place which I am committed to and as a matter of ethics I cannot respond with specific details. Last I knew there is no one in the position to even pursue the position with and no open posting for the job to apply to. Anyone can say they would like the job, however that is a big leap from actually applying and being considered.

It is completely inappropriate for an active, serving Board member to pursue the position without resigning first - that is not challenging the ethics of the Board, it challenges the ethics of the individuals pursuing the position and the Board's tolerance for it. Obviously this Board tolerates a lot.

Her sale was public information and everyone knew it well before the meeting. One has nothing to do with the other. The Chair of the Board has no power without the vote of the Board. We on the Board are not sheep to be manipulated or directed by anyone. Board Members all sign a confidentiality agreement, thus this flair up is one sided. It is in-appropriate for any Board member to talk about specific Board actions, if there was or had been any. Suffice to say Ron signed a letter of resignation. His leaving the Chamber was not a great surprise and not as sudden as some may think. Donna got an offer for her business and sold it for a profit, the timing could be the stuff of rumors, but in this market that could not have been planned. The hiring of a new Director has to be approved by the Board, and not by a minority vote... At this point there has not been a posting for the position and no list for people to put their name on. Who ever is hired, it will be with the consent of the Board through the prevailing By-Laws. No one will be appointed or anointed by any 1 or 2 people. There are several folks, on and off the Board who have mentioned they may consider the job. DID DONNA TELL THE BOARD THAT SHE SOLD HER BUSINESS IN FUQUAY ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE RON WAS ASKED TO LEAVE???? AND DID SHE PUT HER NAME IN FOR HIS JOB????
