Attorneys representing Brad Cooper released a statement Wednesday saying he is cooperating with the investigation and will not talk with the media.
Meanwhile, search warrants were released Wednesday for searches of the family's home, vehicles and husband Cooper.
During the 9 a.m. presser, Town of Cary Police Chief, Pat Bazemore said the warrants were obtained at 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Bazemore told media outlets that the warrants were obtained to allow investigators to gather physical evidence and to take DNA samples and forensic evidence from Brad.

She adds that Brad, who was not at Wednesday's press conference, continues to be cooperative and did not comment on reports of him buying bleach from a convenience store.
A Cary Police officer remains with Brad and the couple's children. The Cooper family is staying with a friend, said Bazemore.
Officers will execute the search warrant throughout the day at the Cooper home at 104 Wallsburg Court.
The body of Nancy Cooper was found Monday night on the banks the banks of a storm water pond in the Oaks at Meadowridge neighborhood off of Holly Springs Road. The location where the body was found is about five miles from Cooper's home.
She was reported missing by a friend on July 12. She was last seen by her husband that morning.
Police still believe it is an isolated case and that Cary is safe and residents shouldn't worry. Bazemore said right now there is no suspect of person of interest in the case.
The family of Nancy Cooper was at Wednesday's press conference and said that funeral arrangements have not been made yet. They continue to ask for people to come forward to help with the case.
Chief Pat Bazemore said that the next press conference will be held Thursday morning, unless any new developments occur.
The attorneys for Brad Cooper released the following statement Wednesday afternoon in regards to the investigating death of Nancy Cooper.
“Brad is devastated by the news of Nancy’s death. He has and will continue to assist in law enforcement efforts to bring his wife’s killer of killers to justice. To avoid jeopardizing the investigation, he will not be answering any questions from the press. We ask that anyone with information about Nancy’s death please convey what you know to the appropriate authorities immediately. We also ask everyone to respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
